It was called the Light Factory, because it was here that the first electric energy was produced in the town.
INDUSTRY
FACTORY
Electricity was generated by diesel engines and production was very limited. The construction dates back to the middle of the 20th century, initiated by the great entrepreneur Mr. Eusebio González. Cereal was also milled to obtain flour.
There are still memories of when night came and the foreman would go up to the factory to start the engines and supply the very scarce public lighting and some wealthy houses.
The factory is located on the outskirts of the town, in the neighborhood known as La Duche. It occupied practically the entire block, but over time, the original farm has been split up.
However, there are still quite a few intact spaces and some machinery. The façade shows interesting construction details, such as the doorway with a semicircular arch.
