The millenary Tradition of the population has been reaffirmed since the thirteenth century in the holy relics, found very close to the population and whose custody has been preserved against the vicissitudes of the times for 800 years.

AND THE TREASURE OF BERZOCANA
They are the oldest in the peninsula, from the early Bronze Age. They were discovered in the rocks of the sierra: a torque of almost a kilo of gold, another one a little smaller and a third one that was lost.
IN A VILLAGE OF MOUNTAINS AND SIERRAS
Berzocana sits on a small hill at 728 meters above sea level, between two waters: the Garganta de San Juan and the Arroyo de las Carretas. It is surrounded by much higher mountains, Risco Gordo reaches almost 1300 meters. The neighborhoods have names that resonate in the depths of time. The overall good taste presents a well-presented, beautiful, reminiscent of yesteryear and fully up to date urban center.
DESDE TIEMPOS PREHISTÓRICOS
The traces of ancient man are written on rock canvases, with symbols of their daily environment: men, animals, mountains… Others are more difficult to interpret, but together they may represent the earliest form of written communication known to us on the peninsula.
Like hieroglyphs, they sent a message that we have not yet been able to decipher.
BERZOCANIEGO CON ESPÍRITU CELTA
The world of the Celtic castros, with the arrival of the Iron Age, is very present in all aspects of life in Berzocana.
There are up to three fortifications in the municipality and a good number of customs that tell us about the millenary culture of our traditions.
UNA TIERRA MUY ROMANIZADA
If the time of the castros was intense, during the Roman domination the culture, economy and society reached moments of great splendor. The remains are found throughout the entire municipality and are evident even in the immaterial culture of the population. The necropolis shows a coexistence of cultures: the traditional Celtic roots and the new Latin ways of understanding the world.

The Crags are a Special Protection Area for Birds, the Mountains are catalogued as a Site of Community Interest, the two Singular Trees of Extremadura, Designation of Origin for Wine, Cheese and Honey…
